Dear Engage Supporters,
As many of you may already be aware, the Lord has called me to serve as the Pastor at Clint First Baptist Church (CFBC). I’m excited for this opportunity to be an under-shepherd at this wonderful church, just outside of El Paso. This is an opportunity that is unique on many accounts. One, they fully support me continuing to work and lead Engage.
First, since it is a bi-vocational position (with part time pay), they expect me to continue to lead Engage (camp & worldview academy & spring break trips). Also, they believe there is potential for their local kids and teens to plug into the Engage Truth Camp , Worldview Academy & trips/events and grow spiritually. In fact, we have several pastors currently involved with our Worldview Academy. We are grateful for CFBC and their support of Engage.
Second, this opportunity has already been tested to some degree in that I have been preaching there since this past September while continuing to lead Engage. (Side note: You can find all my Clint First Baptist gospel of John sermons on the Engage podcast & YouTube Channel). Because good preaching is very much consistent with “expository apologetics” in refuting error and defending the truth, this pastoral position is very much consistent with our current work at Engage. Also, I do plan to record more exclusively apologetic focused videos/podcast episodes soon.
Additionally, our Worldview Academy and summer camps programs are growing every year and have served various believers across the city very well. We have been blessed with the participation of various pastors and their churches. I hope to continue to keep those relationships strong while pastoring at Clint First Baptist.
So, we believe this opportunity can be a win-win all around because Engage has continued to be consistently quite short in our monthly fundraising goal. This chronic shortfall has left things extremely tight for my family. As a result, we have been unable to put away any savings, pay off loans, or address key car repairs for the past few years. So, working as the Pastor at Clint First Baptist (CFBC) and with continued Engage Support would get us exactly where we need to be in monthly income.
Our plan is to eventually move out to Clint to live in the CFBC pastor parsonage (which will save us on rent) and still run Engage programs around the region (Academy & camp) this year.
My ordination service is on Saturday, Feb 8th, at 5:30pm at Clint First Baptist Church. I would like to invite anyone and everyone that wants to attend. The church address is 200 Main St, Clint, TX 79836.
I will be back at Coronado Baptist on Sunday, Feb 2nd to say goodbye before I officially start as the pastor on Feb 9th. I hope to see all of my dear friends at Coronado this upcoming Sunday!
Your support of our ministry (some of you since we first start in 2018) has been so vital and is still very much needed. If you are able continue supporting me personally with Engage or decide to split your giving between myself and our scholarship fund, we certainly will understand.
Thank you again for your faithful support! Please do not hesitate to to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Please pray for our family and Clint First Baptist and Engage during this adjustment.
Your humble servant,
Caleb Harrelson
Engage President & Pastor-elect at Clint First Baptist
